Garden intrigue.....

I have been looking at endless garden design and landscaping books lately.

I love avenues of trees, rows of lavender and long driveways lined with pines trees.

But they are all so STRAIGHT!

Where are the curves?

When I wander down a garden path sometimes I want to be intrigued.

I want to keep walking so I can find out what's around the corner.

If I can build a straight rendered garden brick wall or stair banister, why can't I build one with a slight curve or a huge bend in it?

Life needs a little intrigue don't you think?
Even in the garden.

I have probably walked up thousands of steps in my life time and there has never been detailed pottery mosaics and messages between the front of the steps.

With all the secluded garden areas, paths, steps, columns and garden trims I want at the Villa my mind is spinning with the possibilities of what I can do.

It's looks so simple and it would be easy for me to do as I know how to tile and grout.

My head is full of ideas already and I'll let you know what I come up with.

Pattern outdoor paving...

No boring old concrete garden paving for me.

I want crazy paving, cobblestone, brick patterned, mosaic tiling etc etc....

Here are two examples.
One simple curved cobble brick design and one beautiful swirled mosaic design.
(except I'm not having brown tones)
